WORKSHOPS

Nick Jones and Diana Cruz been partnering for more than two decades.  They are renowned for helping dancers develop both the fundamentals and the freedom that make tango come alive. Blending technical precision, musical understanding, and creative exploration, their teaching embodies the spirit of Full Spectrum Tango: depth, creativity, and connection.

Diana Cruz is a dancer, performer, choreographer, educator, producer and, fundamentally, a tireless and passionate researcher of methods and expressions of Movement. Originally from Paraguay, she has danced for various ballet, contemporary and modern dance companies in Paraguay, Argentina and the United States. She is a certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor by BASI (Body Arts and Science International). She joined Tango dancer Nick Jones in an artistic partnership that forms NaturalTango, an ensemble of Tango Dance and Music — Miss Cruz is a singer in the Orquesta Típica NaturalTango directed by bandoneonist Nick Jones— that has toured and continues touring North America (USA, Canada), South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Diana Cruz incorporates her multidisciplinary techniques (Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Modern Dance, Latin American Folk Dance, Tango, Pilates, Yoga, Vocal Training, Singing) into one cohesive dance.

Nick Jones has been immersed in Argentine tango for nearly three decades. Although he began dancing in 1996, his connection to tango started much earlier, having grown up surrounded by its music and culture—even in his hometown of Denver. Since the early 2000s, Nick has traveled internationally teaching and performing while continually deepening his understanding of tango as both an art form and a living conversation. In 2002, he began studying the bandoneon, and in 2020 he founded the tango quartet Tangozo, further expanding his exploration of tango through music. His journey has been shaped by the generosity and insight of remarkable mentors, including Omar Vega, Julio & Corina, Pulpo & Luiza, and, for the past 20 years, Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne. Nick believes tango is a language through which two people create meaning together. The more deeply we understand that language—and the more attuned we become to each other—the richer, more expressive, and more transformative the dance becomes. To him, tango is a living art, continually shaped by the passion, curiosity, and generosity of the people who dance it.
